Celebration of Bihar Foundation Day (Bihar Diwas) at the Lok Bhavan, Hyderabad

The Hon’ble Governor of Telangana, Sri Shiv Pratap Shukla, and the First Lady of the State, Smt. Janaki Shukla, graced the celebration of Bihar Foundation Day (Bihar Diwas) as Chief Guests at the Lok Bhavan, Hyderabad. Extending warm greetings to all participants and invitees, the Governor paid heartfelt tributes to the visionary leaders and people of Bihar who played a pivotal role in the formation and development of the State. Addressing the gathering, the Governor expressed his joy at joining the celebrations of Bihar Diwas, a day that marks the creation of the State on March 22, 1912, when it was carved out of the Bengal Presidency. He noted that Bihar, since India’s independence, has continued to be an integral part of the Republic, making remarkable contributions to the nation’s cultural, spiritual, political, and educational heritage. Highlighting Bihar’s illustrious past, the Governor recalled its distinction as the cradle of civilization, where ancient centers like Nalanda and Vikramshila Universities flourished, and where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree in Bodh Gaya. He remarked on Bihar’s enduring impact on India’s intellectual and spiritual landscape. The event was held under the aegis of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at fostering national integration through cultural exchange and mutual appreciation among States and Union Territories. Celebrating Bihar Diwas in Telangana exemplifies this spirit of unity in diversity. As part of the celebrations, a video message from the Hon’ble Governor of Bihar was screened, and a presentation by the Bihar Tourism Department, showcasing the State’s rich historical and cultural legacy. The cultural segment of the evening featured traditional dance performances and special artistic presentations, reflecting the vibrant ethos of Bihar. The event was attended by several distinguished dignitaries, including Sri M. Dana Kishore, IAS, Special Chief Secretary to Governor; Sri Vijay Kumar, IPS, Addl. DG, Intelligence; senior officials from Lok Bhavan, and esteemed guests from the State of Bihar settled at Hyderabad
